And They Call The Thing A Rodeo

Howdy!! It’s Burke Stampede week here in Burke! This week is always busy here at the Gazette. We do a lot of printing for the rodeo, and we also work with other newspapers getting all the stories and advertisements done. For being more of a city slicker here in Burke, I have always made fun memories out at the rodeo grounds. One year I was a part of the clown’s act, and it was my job to lead his miniature pony out to him. Other years my friends, and I took part in the rodeo idol on Thursday night where we performed a dance to Taylor Swift’s “Our Song”, and then performed all three nights during the performances. Some photos for reference of our style then haha. Have fun this weekend enjoying the Burke Stampede!

Newspaper: A lighter paper this week with sports winding down and families busy enjoying the time before school starts up again. Dog days activities and updates are in this week’s paper and let me know if you have information on an event or a reunion you want listed in the paper!

Print Is Forever: This week is all about rodeo. The programs are the only thing heading out of the printer this week, and we print alottttttt of them. We usually get the contestants names on Tuesday or Wednesday this week, meaning we can’t start printing till mid-week, and then it’s go time to have them done by Friday. Somehow, we always get them done!

Store Front: Up next on the agenda is DOG DAYS! This year I have four different Burke shirts for sale for the big weekend. I will be running them on pre-order style July 13th – July 19th. You will be able to get an order in on the website to purchase, or you can also pre-order with me in store. Shipping options will be available once everything gets set up. There will be limited options available in store during Dog Days so to make sure you get the size and shirts you want it is best to get a pre-order in. Can’t wait to celebrate Burke with you!
